The Love Your Career Scholarship is available to students attending an accredited college or university. You must submit an essay of at least 1,000 words describing at least three steps that you plan to take in the next year to start a path towards having a career that you love in order to qualify for this award. Topics may include: What are your passions that could be turned into a career? What are some ideas you have for a business based on things that you love and are skilled at? You must also interview a professional in your chosen field that has at least three years of experience.

One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest

Deadline: 1/14/2018
Available to: High School Freshmen through College Seniors
Award Amount: 4 Awards from $75-$1,000

The One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest is open to students who are at least eight years of age. You must submit a video between three and eight minutes that shares and highlights solutions to the issues discussed in the chosen sustainability topic(s) chosen from the list on the sponsor’s website. The film entry’s theme must be solution-based. The film should talk about an environmental/sustainability problem and then discuss what could be a potential solution to this problem. Videos may be submitted by either an individual or a group and animated videos of no more than 45 seconds will also be considered.

MoversCorp.com Scholarship

Deadline: 1/15/2018
Available to: High School Seniors through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: $500

The MoversCorp.com Scholarship is available to students currently enrolled in a university program that is two years or longer in length. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and submit an essay of between 500 and 800 words on your moving experience in order to qualify for this award.

The Providian Medical Scholarship is available to students enrolled in an accredited high school or college in the United States. You must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, be either in your final year of high school or enrolled at the undergraduate level in good academic standing to qualify for this award. An essay of up to 1,500 words that describes how medical equipment technology has changed the face of a college course and curriculum is required.

The StudentCam Competition is open to students in grades six through 12. To enter, you must submit a five – to seven – minute video on the following topic: “The Constitution and You: Choose a provision of the U.S. Constitution and create a video illustrating why it’s important to you.”

The Technology Addiction Awareness Scholarship is available to high school, undergraduate or graduate students. The Fountain Essay Contest

The Fountain Essay Contest is available to students of all ages. You must submit a 1500 – to 2500 – word essay on the following theme: “How to face a disaster.” Submissions should be factual, but with an inspirational style that will feed both your reason and soul. Association of Women in Mathematics Essay Contest

Deadline: 1/31/2018
Available to: High School Freshmen through College Seniors
Award Amount: Varies

The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) Essay Contest on Biographies of Contemporary Women in Mathematics is open to all students in three categories: grades 6 – 8, grades 9 – 12, and college undergraduates. Your essay must be primarily based on an interview with a woman currently working in a mathematical career and be approximately 500 to 1000 words in length. The winning essays will be posted on the AWM web page and the grand prize winner will have his or her essay published in the AWM Newsletter.

Immigration Scholarship Essay Contest

The Immigration Scholarship Essay Contest is open to U.S. citizens attending or planning to attend an accredited college or university. EngineerGirl Essay Contest

The EngineerGirl Essay Contest is available to male and female students in grades three through twelve. To be considered, you must write a plea to your city or county council that makes the case for an infrastructure improvement and gives details of your suggested solution. Your essay must be between 1000 and 1500 words and must include two engineering solutions for improving one of the following infrastructure elements: transportation, water treatment, waste management, energy, communication, financial security, healthcare, public safely or recreation.

ExploraVision Science Competition

Available to: Ages 14-21
Award Amount: 8 Awards from $5,000 – $10,000

The ExploraVision Science Competition is available to students in grades K-12. You must work in a group of two, three or four students. Each team will select a technology that is present in the home, school and/or community and explore what the technology does, how it works and how or why it was invented. All applicants must be citizens of the United States or Canada to be eligible.

The Courageous Persuaders Video Contest is available to high school students nationwide. To be considered, you must create a 30 – second television commercial targeted at middle school students to warn them about the dangers of underage drinking or texting while driving.

Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship

Available to: High School Seniors
Award Amount: $1,000

The Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship is open to current high school seniors. You must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words with two to three photos of your volunteer efforts to help animals in need and how that involvement has changed your lives or shaped your perceptions on the importance of animal welfare in order to be considered for this award.

Twenty-Eight Annual Poster Contest for High School Students

Deadline: 2/19/2018
Available to: High School Freshmen through High School Seniors
Award Amount: 3 Awards from $250 – $1,000

The Twenty-Eight Annual Poster Contest for High School Students is open to students from grades 9 through 12. This contest involves students creating a poster with the theme and caption, “You can make a difference,” illustrating the idea that one person can change the world for the better. Each poster must be the work of only one student and the poster concept, design and any photos or artwork used must be the original work of the student entering the competition. Posters must be 16 × 20 inches in size, including border or mat if used. If charcoal or pastel is used, the poster must be either laminated or covered with clear plastic. On the back of the poster, the following must be included: the student’s name, street address, town, state and zip code, home phone number, school, school address, grade and e-mail address (if available). Posters will be judged on overall impact, effectiveness in conveying the theme, originality and artistic merit. The judges’ decisions are final. All entries become the property of the Christophers and no posters will be returned.

The AFSA High School Essay Contest is open to high school students. To be considered, in a 1,000 – to 1250 – word essay, you must identify two cases – one you deem successful and one you deem unsuccessful – where the U.S. pursued an integrated approach to build peace in a conflict – affected country. The Brighter Future Scholarship is available to undergraduate, graduate or law students enrolled at an accredited college or university. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and submit 500 word letter of intent that identifies a problem and explains how you intend to use your education as a way to begin solving that problem, thus creating a brighter future.

The Project Yellow Light Video Contest Scholarship is available to high school juniors and seniors and full – time undergraduate students. To be considered, you must create a 25 or 55 second video that discourages distracted driving, specifically texting while driving.

The Stop Texting and Driving Video Scholarship Contest is available to high school juniors, seniors and full-time college students. You must submit a 30 to 60 second video on YouTube that will convince others not to text and drive in order to be considered for this award.

Available to: Maximum Age 18 Years
Award Amount: 100 Awards from $500 – $100,000

The Paradigm Challenge is open to students up to the age of 18. You may work in a team or alone in creating an original and creative way to reduce waste in homes, schools, communities, and / or around the world. Entries may come in the form of posters, videos, inventions, messages, community events, websites, mobile apps, or anything else that will help save lives. Additionally, you must submit a brief statement of your idea (140 characters or less) in order to qualify for this award.

The Asia SiVon Cottom Scholarship is available to high school seniors, undergraduate, and graduate students. You must be pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, or math to be eligible for this award.
